NEW BRITAIN DATA

In New Britain, during the time period 2002 through 2006, the proportion of births to teen mothers greatly exceeded that of the state overall. With the exception of 2005, for the remaining four years in this analysis, the proportion of births to teen mothers in New Britain was double that of the statewide average. In 2006, New Britain showed its highest percentage of births to teens throughout the five year period (17.7%). This data demonstrate that New Britain is a Connecticut community that would greatly benefit from efforts to reduce teen pregnancy and adolescent childbearing.
